Tip Cullen's life reads like an epic screenplay—because he lived it first, then learned to perform it.

​

An Irish Catholic from a community where joining British forces was unthinkable, Tip made the extraordinary decision in 1986 to become a Royal Marines Commando. For security reasons, only his parents knew. This act of courage—both physical and personal—set the tone for three decades of exceptional service at the sharp end of global operations.

​

For 30 years, Tip served as a specialist Royal Marines Mountain Leader, deploying multiple times in discrete operations, war-fighting, reconnaissance, and peace support roles. Whether on the front line or operating behind enemy lines, he exemplified the Commando ethos: courage, determination, unswerving loyalty, and cheerfulness in the face of adversity.

But Tip's story doesn't end with military service. Driven by his passion for storytelling, he made another bold transition—leaving the regular Corps, transferring to the Reserves, and training as an actor. At 50, he earned his BA (Hons) in Acting from The Actor's Wheel at Marjon Plymouth, proving that reinvention knows no age limit. Today, he is an accredited theatre and movie actor, bringing the same discipline and commitment to the creative world that defined his military career.
